NYSTSA Officer Candidates shall be elected by majority vote of the voting delegates at the annual NYSTSA conference.
If a candidate receives a majority of votes in their office, they win that officer position. If no majority is reached, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated. Votes for this candidate will be transferred to the voter’s next preferred choice (which could include abstention).
If any position is left unfilled, the NYSTSA Advisory Board will determine a system to fill the open positions, if they deem it necessary to do so.
Each NYSTSA chapter will be entitled to three (3) voting delegates for each officer position election.
Each voting delegate shall have one (1) vote and must be present at the NYSTSA Conference and seated in the area designated by the presiding officer in order to vote.
